Meet Barb Heneghan
Barb joined our disability law practice over eight years ago. A graduate of Southern Illinois University with a degree in marketing, Barb acts as our paralegal helping to organize medical records and keeping up with clients and their medical care. She is a patient listener and understands when people are frustrated at the lengthy process of applying for disability benefits.
Barb has extensive business experience and her ability to organize and work with health care providers is exceptional. She works hand-in-hand with Mary L. Collins to develop and understand each client’s case on a personal level. Barb’s drive to help our clients coupled with her business experience makes her a treasure to our firm.
Meet Bess Van Asselt
Prior to beginning as a full-time staff member in 2011, Bess had worked part-time for our firm for over six years during high school and in college where she received a Master’s degree in Women’s Studies. She is now pursuing a doctorate and can only assist us on an occasional basis. Bess has extensive experience in reviewing and analyzing the medical records and disability applications for our clients. She is also responsible for our much of our organizational system and updating our computer programs. Her meticulous attention to detail along with her warm personality makes her an important asset to our disability law practice.
Meet Gina Cappozzo
Gina has a Bachelor Degree of Science in Biology/Chemistry. She taught high school Biology and Chemistry for many years. As she is leaving the full time job of teaching she came on board to assist us in reviewing medical records and she is responsible for filing all appeals electronically. With her science background, she has been very successful at reviewing and summarizing the medical records in a file. She works off site so most clients will only talk with her on the phone.
